Mercy kiling is wrong! It is not ours to end our life it's God. Yes you suffered in this World then you end it. So what you wanna do if your body died but your soul live. Your soul will be judge and you will suffering forever and for life after death your soul will not die. God bless those people that our life here in this World body and soul if our body separated from our soul we died. So what you wanna to if your soul be judged in never ending sorry and or going to hell because you end the life that given by God. It is not us to end our life it is God. Our life end sooner or later, why not wait the time. Pray and ask Gods guidance. There are a lot of people want to fight to live but it end. So sad how the Devil fight to lose hope to get people soul in his Kingdom. God bless the people who lose hope.
Thank you Bishop Vann. This takes a lot of courage to do!
Congratulate to you bishop kevin on 10th anniversary .from ireland 🇮🇪 ❤

Soooo glad I was raised up in the Diocese of Orange! What a wonderful childhood and EXCELLENT education from fine men and women of God! Thank you Mom and Dad for affording me this fine education and presentation of spiritual values!
This literally had me cracking up 😂😭
Zot Zot!!
Good morning. Fr. Brandon you were a speaker at our Serra club and you were sharing with us your vocation story. Praying for more vocation🙏✝️🙏
With all due respect, Father, it is very inappropriate for you to be involving yourself in politics in any way. You are here to guide and teach people how to be better people not influence their political views. Women can do as they please with their bodies, whether you agree with it or not. I hope you are as educated as I think you are and are well aware of the Catholic Church's history in utilizing shame for the control of humanity for centuries. The influence that the Catholic Church has on people in power should be on a lesser scale than what it seems to be attempting to do, given your response and advocation in politics with this video. Your intentions are good, but your message can and will be exploited. A perfect example is how priests will use this as a justification to influence a parishes followers, thus leading to a hostile environment for people of differing ideals. I've witnessed this first hand, and I will say the younger Latino community is leaving for these very reasons.
Are you even Catholic? If so, do you not know that the Catholic Church now, and has always, taught that abortion is a grave moral sin?
@@TonyKeeh teaching people why it's a moral sin is different than for a priest to involve themselves in politics where they are supposed to be separate. I do not like where the church is heading and get more tempted to be more spiritual than religious due to their involvement in politics and their want for control of people.
Well good for her! Wonder if she’d say the same if she had ALS like my mom had 😢

what is the purpose of this comment?
Cheaper to kill people than help them..
Your wording implies your aren’t thinking with good faith. Your use of overlay negative wording implies a lack of intelligence on your part. Assisted dying that is chosen is helping. You imply a slippery slope of people being forced to chose the option, but you give NO evidence.
Euthanasia is disturbing, patient autonomy is important, but not absolute, If a patient only has a fever and the patient asks for opium or morphine and the doctor prescribes it, everyone will agree that is negligent and unethical, if the patient can decide whether or not he should continue living and a doctor that assists them with that are being negligent and acting without any ethical basis, and going way beyond the limits of bioethics firmly established in medicine Most doctors are against euthanasia, and the founder of the first medical ethics research institute, Daniel Calahan presents the main counterarguments agaist euthanasia 1. The practice must be allowed with respect for the patient's autonomy Callahan: If what matters is the patient's autonomy, then the patient should have the right to ask to be killed for any reason, even if he is not terminally ill and just has depression, but that would be absurd and would create a society where more people would die needlessly And not why supporters of euthanasia say that there is no reason for it to happen, since the argument for autonomy presents no logical or legal barriers to the case, and we are also starting to have several cases of this happening 2. More euthanasia is limited to competent patients and is a form of compassion Callaham: If euthanasia is a form of compassion, why discriminate between competent and non-competent patients, they both suffer in the same, if compassion is what allows patients to kill themselves or doctors to kill patients, then this should not be limited to competent patients only, as this would violate a medical ethical principle of justice (which is about treating similar cases in similar ways) 3- Euthanasia is a natural extension of the health system: Here is a direct sentence Callaham arguing against that: "medicine does not have the ability or obligation to judge when life is no longer just worth living, doctors do not have objective means of evaluating this type of complaint from their patients, just as they do not have the right to act on such complaints." My sources for Callaham's arguments form this Callaham dissertation called "When Self-Determination Runs Amok.", if you know English or use google translate it's pretty interesting, and if you're short on time this video is a good summary
Dork.
Stop calling it Assisted Suicide ! It's called death with dignity! You're already suffering in pain/ and can't take it any longer. Because it's unfair and selfish of you self righteous sheep.... To let someone or watch someone SUFFER! Until they're begging for the so called merciful God , to end it! Because it's a FACT, that he doesn't feel like it, or have the decency to cure them! I wish I were God, because you / I wouldn't put you that crap in the first place!
There's nothing wrong about assisted suicide or even euthanasia. You can't have freedom if you don't own your life. Don't judge to not be judged. Do what you want. They should never push you to do it and they should never guilt trip you into not doing it. You know better than anybody else how YOU feel and what YOUR priorities are. I don't care if you are dying (or already died), it is unfair for you to shame others for making different choices.
What happened to Bishop Vann? He isn't the same person anymore.
I mean I think it’s fine for her to not consent to it. But if someone does want it it’s probably better for them to die peacefully than forever in pain
I already have a savings account with sufficient funds to go to Dignitas or similar if I'm diagnosed with a terminal disease. I should be able sort out what I need to in a month and then off I go to do what I need to do.
Thats great. I was badly messed up by a doctor. I might choose a place like that.
Hi David
She's fake and her issue is not serious or at the last stage.
Wanna take her place to find out?
This is ignorance trying its best. There is better out there if you wish to find it.
Thank you HE Nann, i wish you’d speak more about the immorality coming into “man’s law”
OK, so Ms. Packer doesn't want assisted suicide for herself, that's fine, it's her choice. But everybody's life, circumstances, and type of illness are different, and what might be right for one person, is not right for another. If the patient's thinking and reasoning are lucid and clear, and they have a terminal illness where the pain is excruciating, and the *quality* of life is poor, it is up to the affected individual to make that choice, nobody else.
How do you know the patient's thinking is lucid and clear ? Many people have gone through periods of wishing to end it all...and survived, and are happy too. "Degree of suffering" is a completely subjective term... and it you can't see how easy it would be to manipulate this to take advantage of the terminally ill... then you must be incredibly naive.
@@veemon9280 I witnessed my maternal grandfather slowly wither away from Lou Gehrig's disease. You gradually lose control of your body, the nerve endings and muscles becoming useless. But his mind was sharp and lucid until the very end. He was totally dependent on my grandmother and other family members to take care of him. It didn't take a genius to see that he was miserable with what his life had become. He was relieved of his suffering when he died in his sleep. The disease also attacks the ability to breathe, so the patient is smothered by his own body. My once-active father was felled by a severe stroke that almost killed him, the right side of his body was paralyzed and his speech was garbled. He lived that way for 11 years, until pneumonia killed him. And he was miserable during those 11 years, frequently bursting into tears and asking, "Why? Why? Why?" . JUST WHO IS THE INCREDIBLY NAIVE ONE NOW?????? I have witnessed the suffering of relatives and friends due to various diseases over a lifetime, so I know what I'm talking about. If your family suffered a severe stroke, Lou Gehrig's, Muscular Dystrophy, Parkinson's, then YOU can be the one to witness their suffering!
@@lindaoneil5085 i witnessed my own mother die a horrible slow and progressive death due to severe Parkinson's . A friend of mine died of cancer last month. My breast cancer friend was literally writing books until she died. I saw my mother cry as she was unable to move. Yes I know what that kind of suffering looks like. DNR already exists for people who do not wish for excessive medical procedures near death. But the government and hospitals should never offer "the final solution" as a cure for problems. Offering the final solution represents an utter failure of society to protect its citizens. Euthanasia goes against everything we are taught in medical school ! Its completely against the doctor's oathe of fighting to preserve life. Under any sort of scrutiny...euthanasia ...is really nothing more than population control under the guise of "individual rights" ...its not even an individual right...because technically its giving the doctors permission to terminate a patient.
@@veemon9280 Euthanasia is illegal in the U.S., but is legal in some European countries. If the *quality* of life is so bad for a patient due to a chronic illness that cannot be cured and they wish to end their suffering, there is an organization called Dignitas. The patient is evaluated by medical personnel to determine if they truly wish to commit suicide, and are not influenced by another. A lot of paperwork has to be signed, documented, and witnessed. A Dignitas member will explain to the patient what will happen, and do they still agree to it. "First, do no harm" is part of the Hippocratic Oath that doctors have to take. But there are still incurable diseases that doctors have no cure for, and the quality of life for the patient who is in chronic pain & misery with no end in sight. Who wants to live in constant pain and misery with no cure available, only palliative treatment? If it is a patient's wish to end their suffering or stop treatment, then it should be honored. By the family and the doctor. And yes, I am familiar with the "Do Not Resuscitate" order. If a DNR is honored by the medical profession, why not a legal and painless euthanasia approved by the patient, too?
it will be a 1970s church. Iconoclastic, uninspiring. it will still look "protestant"
It is simply freedom of choice.
Sounds like a 50s ballad for the Sanctus. Interesting….so much for Sacrosanctum Concilium, Musicam Sacram, or Desiderio Desiderave.
"People can choose to do what they want" Suicide and mental health is a big problem. People needs to stop saying it is right because it not. You matter, I matter, and every average person matters. The solution should not be assisting with death. It's not a solution. A solution is fixing a problem and this does not fix mental health. Because that's what we should be focusing on, fixing mental health. Not helping someone end it all. This could actually cause more mental heath issues among those family members which would just end up to more people suiciding. If nothing is done then we as a society will continue to have these problems and nothing is fixed. Edit: Among this comment section I know this is an unpopular opinion. But there is a reason for life, and instead of giving a person a chance to find that meaning, they help them end it. I can't agree with it
people are so mistrusting of the government...yet by the comment section.. are completely BLIND to how easily euthanasia could be corrupted to take advantage of the vulnerable population.
Thanks for speaking up. We need more people with your unpopular opinion and courage is contagious. People seeing you saying what you say will empower others to say it and not be too intimidated. This comment section is intimidating for people in the anti euthanasia camp. We need to be able to see each other.
A doctor should never be responsible for someone's death. DO NO HARM!!!
But they do harm all the time. They are butchers and pill pushers. Quacks. The healthiest people never go to the doctor. Just eat right, exercise and don't smoke. Don't take their toxic pills. Putting suffering people out of their misery is one thing they can do right.
𝓟Ř𝔬𝓂𝔬𝐒ϻ
But the government is NOT run by the church and was never intended to be, so what you BELIEVE is not relevant.
1 John 3:15. “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.” …. My brothers have eternal life abiding in them.
We as the people of Jesus Christ must do his work to reestablish peace morality order and love no more bloodshed among those who didn't deserve life but they do deserve life do not let the arrogance of the people and their selfish Acts extend the horrific deeds of the wickedness among our lives this ends now we will finish this.
So what would be your proposal to reach a compromise? Allow abortion up to 5 months? And always in cases such as rape and incest? I believe that the radical stands of the Catholic Church drives these responses. And by the way: YOU shouldn't be concerned about how taxpayers money is spent!
Church and state are seperate. Just like the Forefathers wanted.
@@EphesianRose I don't care who you worship. I just don't want it in my politics. How exactly is that atheist?
@@HopeDeepRuns Even the most *secular* countries have more restrictions on abortions than we do! Under Roe, abortions have been legal in this country up to all 9 months of pregnancy! Who else has it enshrined up to 9 months no restriction? Oh that's right North Korea, Communist China, and the former Soviet Union. All countries where ATHEISM is enshrined and religious expression banned. - The question of when life begins is not a political question. Stop shoving your atheism down everyone's throat and everyone's womb. Who are you to decide what lives are expendable?
@@EphesianRose Asking for democracy, not a theocracy isn't an atheistic value.
@@christian8340 We're not a mob-rule democracy. We are a republic, under God. And inalienable rights are endowed to us by our CREATOR among these being LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Is that too theocratic sounding for you? That's straight from Jefferson's pen.
@@EphesianRose How is this relevant? I don't know.
